A company wants to help homeowners victims of disasters

The platform HelpMee.ca allows homeowners québec to find a nearby service companies to carry out urgent repairs to small or medium-scale projects in the event of a disaster. In an interview to the Journal of insurance, Dominic Bouffard, co-founder of the platform, has indicated its interest to put the site to services of the insurers.

We will try to seek partnerships with insurance companies. We believe we can be a complementary tool in case of claims “, said Mr. Bouffard.

33 % have experienced a disaster or urgent repairs

According to a recent survey from Leger Marketing, 33 % of owners in quebec have lived through a disaster or have to do an urgent repair on their property over the past five years. Of this percentage, 15 % represent the case of claims.

The service, which is free, puts users in touch with entrepreneurs that are available and certified in plumbing, electricity, roofing, locksmith, appliance repair, cleaning after a disaster as well as heating and air conditioning.

HelpMee.ca now has a hundred corporate partners and the service currently serves the metropolitan areas of Montréal and Québec city. The platform will extend to the rest of Quebec in the coming months.
