Canada Life has offered a financial contribution of $ 800,000 to the Foundation of the Montreal heart Institute.
The gift ” will be dedicated to the construction of the ultimate phase of the ÉPIC Centre of theMontreal heart Institute , “says the insurer. The Center focuses on prevention in cardiology, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases.
The contribution will thus enable the creation of a new research unit that will bring together researchers and students interested in the factors that may modulate the cognitive changes frequently observed in older persons “. Dr. Louis Bherer, a neuropsychologist and assistant director of scientific Centre ÉPIC, will lead the research unit, with Dr Mathieu Gayda and Daniel Gagnon.
A gym of research and laboratories are also part of the expansion and modernization of the ÉPIC Centre and will be operational by the fall of 2019.
