Hub acquires another canadian company

Hub international Limited (Hub) announced today the acquisition of GMS Insurance Inc. (GMS Insurance). The brokerage company american realizes its 25th acquisition in Canada this year, after having acquired firms in alberta BenefitLink Resource Group Edmonton Holdings and Berk Bilgen Insurance (BBI) in July.

Based in Mississauga, Ontario, GMS Insurance is an independent consultant that offers solutions in the areas of pension and benefits. The company also has another entity located in Kitchener, Ontario. The latter, however, has been acquired by Hub, last year. Now, with the two entities under its fold, the Hub improves its services in the south-western Ontario and the greater Toronto area.

“We are delighted to welcome GMS Insurance in Hub, demonstrating our commitment to the market, while strengthening our capabilities in the field of employee benefits in Canada,” said Gregory Belton, executive chairman of the board of directors of Hub international Ontario Limited.

The team of GMS Insurance, will join Hub and report to Mr Belton. This union aims to strengthen the growth of the benefits and services offered by the Hub, in particular in terms of retirement.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
