Mark Wilson, ceo of Aviva, resigned

The director-general of the last six years ofAviva, Mark Wilson announced today his resignation.

The interim will be ensured by the chairman of the board of directors of Aviva, Adrian Montague. Mr. Wilson will still remain with the company until April to facilitate the transition. His replacement should be chosen in the course of the next four months.

The reorganization of the company

The direction of Mark Wilson has been marked by an extensive reorganization of the company. During the past six years, Aviva has focused on specific markets with the acquisition of the british company Friends Life. At the time of his assumption of office, Mr. Wilson has also refocused the activities of the insurer on 14 countries, rather than 28. It has made the transfer of several activities in France, Spain and Italy.

“When I joined Aviva, the company was in poor health. Aviva is very different today. I realized what I wanted to achieve and it is time that I move on to something else. It was an honor to lead Aviva during this period of tremendous change, ” said the outgoing director general.
