In the insurance industry of damages, 5 298 jobs are still to be filled in 2017, 2018 and 2019, reported the Coalition for the promotion of professions in the property and casualty insurance during its annual general assembly which took place yesterday, Wednesday, June 6.
The posts include those of agent in damage insurance, insurance broker, claims adjuster and underwriter.
“Some of the findings are clear ; the companies have recruitment difficulties, the retirements are massive, new trends and technologies are transforming the skills sought in candidates and the candidates from the immigration should be further considered by the companies,” said Robert LaGarde, president and chief executive officer of the Coalition.
In good financial health
The Coalition has amassed 425 855 $ for his campaign funding 2017-2018, an increase of nearly 9 % compared to the previous year, but a little less than $ 5,000 in its goal of 430 000 $. A total of 213 member companies have contributed, including 14 insurers to brokers (162 720 $), 18 insurers (212 024 $), 160 brokerage firms (45 043 $) and 21 firms expertise in settlement of a claim (6 068 $).
She ends the year 2017-2018 with a surplus of $ 6,002, that the Coalition account reinvest in its operations for 2018-2019.
For its capital campaign to 2018-2019, the Coalition has collected, as of the date of 5 June, of the contributions up to 254 337 $ (36 % of the industry). This represents nearly half of its goal of $ 530,000, or 75 % of the industry. The potential contributions of 100 % of the industry amounted to 708 000 $.
