Robert Dumas, president and chief executive officer of Sun Life Financial Quebec, is appointed chairman of the board of directors of Centraide of Greater Montreal.
Centraide of Greater Montreal holds its operations in the regions of Laval, Montreal and the South Shore, and employs approximately 57 000 volunteers in over 350 organizations that are fighting against poverty and social exclusion.
“I am committed to building healthy and sustainable communities, which involves breaking the cycle of poverty and exclusion and improve the quality of life of the people. We are part of the same environment and we all play an important role. This is the reason why I think we need to be there for each other, ” says Mr. Dumas.
The latter is part of the board of directors of the organization for 2016 and chaired the united way campaign at the Sun Life now six years old.
A committed volunteer
“We are very pleased to be able to count on the renewed support of Robert Dumas as, this time, of chairman of the board of directors of the united way. It is a great volunteer as committed as gatherer, who already know in depth the workings of our organization, ” says Lili-Anna Pereša, president and executive director of Centraide of Greater Montreal. We are privileged to be able to count on his expertise and leadeurship so as never to remain indifferent in-your-face about the issues and needs of the communities of the Greater Montreal. “
United way is also working in 18 regions of the province and collects donations that are then redistributed within the community.
“The decisions on the allocation of funds are made by committees comprised of volunteers, experts who have a good knowledge of social development, but also people like you and me who are active in their community,” one can read on the website of the organization.
