Several organizations create a tool to mitigate climate change

L’Union des municipalités du Québec, the Regroupement national des conseils régionaux de l’environnement du Québec, the Federation of canadian municipalities, the Network Environment, the Fonds d’action québécois pour the sustainable development and thequebec Association for energy management have united to launch a new online platform on climate issues.

The Flagship climate is intended as a reference tool for all professionals, decision-makers, elected officials or civic leaders. It allows those who wish to put in place mitigation initiatives and adaptation to climate change for the sectors of mobility, transport, energy, waste management and land use planning.

Fifty local initiatives

More than fifty local initiatives are listed. In the Montreal region, four are in place, including a programme of energy management in buildings and a collection of intelligent waste.

The project is funded by the green Fund of the gouvernement du Québec and the green municipal Fund, in addition to the Municipalities for climate innovation, implemented by the Federation of canadian municipalities and funded by the federal government.
