Thefinancial markets Authority has submitted its draft regulations on the sale by Internet for consultation. “Regulations on alternative methods of distribution, the document contains fifteen pages and 38 articles. Their entry into force is scheduled for June 13, 2019.
“The draft regulations proposed by the Authority has been developed taking particular account of the concerns raised by the stakeholders of the financial services industry, consumer protection groups and the public in general, during the study of bill 141,” says the president-director general of the Authority, Louis Morisset.
Public information session
Interested parties to submit comments are invited to do so by December 10, 2018. The Authority also indicated that it will hold a public information session to explain the major orientations of the proposed regulations on October 17, in Quebec city.
“The proposed framework is flexible, considering the rapid evolution of technologies. It seeks to ensure the harmonious development of new practices in the field of financial services, while ensuring the protection of consumers, ” said Mr Morisset.
