Then that opens the second edition of the event women in IT, in Quebec city, a network of business people and political will is mobilized to write an open letter.
Its purpose is to raise awareness of the economic environment to the importance of considering the contribution of women in information technology (IT) in all organizations.
This open letter is notably signed by Eric Cairo, minister delegated to the digital Transformation of government, Michel Loranger, senior vice-president, performance and technology at SSQ Insurance, and Daniel Roussel, director general of Power Eleven.
20 % of women in IT
We can read that IT represents one of the business environment for which the opportunities are diversified, but where the women are little career. A study of TECHNOCompétences, published in 2017, reports that women represent just 20 % of the employees in IT.
“Health, education, insurance, government, entrepreneurship, are all environments in which the TI are present and which require the presence of women.
